I had a couple of holes like you're describing in my top. I ended up getting a convertible repair kit and patching it from the inside so it wasn't noticeable from the outside. The holes were very small, less than 1/2 inch slits.

I still want to take it to Honda and recoup a few bucks of this $1599 warranty I purchased

 

well the hole is slowly getting bigger from the inside out, so I took it to Honda. The SM took pics and said he'd contact the corp. rep. He also said the top is a wear-tear item and is not covered underneath my warranty...wtf.

 

black rtv only unless it gets bigger. rtv won't stop it from getting bigger, but it will help. i got some holes and the rtv stay on for about a year before i had to fix it again. i do top replacements if you ever need it in the future. hopefully you won't need it for a while.

 

thanks to marekv, we tried some of the rtv, but it's still being warn at a fast pace. I do drop the top every time I get in though

Red Celica what year is your car? I just noticed a hole in my top on the passenger side next too no seems or anything. Honda is going to replace the entire top under warranty. The whole started out small but just continues to grow day by day.
