Thumbs down Good...and bad day in the Carolinas...

Beautiful day yesterday. First, my thanks go to David and his wife for opening their beautiful home and property to all of us Saturday . Very gracious of you both .

The morning meet at Triangle was indeed a sight to see. I gathered from others that for those that attend the monthly 'Italians' meet, what is seen from one month to another doesn't necessarily change much. But, as a guest visiting from Richmond, VA, it offered a terrific eyeball-infusion of beautiful rolling metal. Some truly spectacular cars were in that parking lot. And as a guest, I must comment on how absolutely proper every attendees' behavior was during the time I was on the lot. I respect those who respect others; and it was apparent that everyone that stopped in...either to show their ride...or to view those that bring them...people _do_ know how to act respectfully. It made the experience quite pleasant.

Returning to HKStallion's home, the rest of the day seems a blur this morning . Glad I was able to work on XclusiveAutosports' & rajun asian's S2000s. They both seemed quite satisfied with my work when they left.

I am, however, distraught to have learned during the course of the day that evidently a member on the Carolina boards has taken to casting private dispersions against my character & service I have provided to S2000 owners over the years. And more distressing, this person's alleged actions most definitely cost me _at least_ one customer this weekend. I have read PMs first-hand that make it apparent that this person seems quite comfortable casting lies to unsuspecting and gullible young/new-S2000 owners. While his actions border on liable, what I've read is only second-hand, and therefore it cannot be proven.

There is no reason for me to call this person out directly. There is a simple word for the character of such individuals: that of LIAR, where direct confrontation only leaves one with the bitter taste of wasted time & energy of listening to denials. And while an individual willing to cast such lies in a private fashion typically has no interest in doing so _directly_ to me, and for all eyes in the Carolinas to see, I nonetheless most willingly open this thread as a forum for that person...or anyone...to voice his or her concerns about the quality of my work, here, now...and publicly.

I've been an S2000 owner since Nov '01, been on these boards for nearly that much time as you can see from info within my avatar at left, and have been for nearly all that same time the sole Headlights Conversion Specialist for Rick's Signature Accessories. I realize that with the 10 year production span of Honda's S2000, there has over the last couple years been a rise of younger owners to our boards. With the model's depreciation, these new owners now have a financial opportunity to enjoy in this sports car what many of us have been able to appreciate for many years now.

Those same new owners, however, are also newer to our community of owners...and therefore have no reason to know first, or even second-hand, the quality service I have provided most directly to this community as well as my own Mid-Atlantic region and well over 500 customers through Rick's Signature Accessories. My own S2000, which I have affectionately called The Bruised Banana from week-one has over 200,000 miles on it. With quite a few of those miles rolled on as a direct result of driving to owners to perform headlamp conversions. Considering both shipments through Rick's Signature Accessories, as well as semi-local efforts ramped up similar to this past weekend in Raleigh, I have handled headlights for owners from 8 countries and nearly every single state in this Union. And in each AND EVERY case, my service work has been top-notch, with ZERO CUSTOMER DISSATISFACTION.

From the lift of the hood, and the first screw untwisted, I handle a customer's car with the utmost respect. Anyone that has watched my work first-hand knows that I own my service to that customer and I assume 100% responsibility for my work. I've had untold numbers of customers ask, "Mind if I help you?"...to which I've replied, "Sorry, no, just sit back and watch." And I do that because if something were to go wrong then I take responsibility. I've had observers 'get too close' to HID bulbs and the like, and I'll 'mother-hen' them away pointing out that I am responsible for those $120+ bulbs while performing a customer's conversion, so respectfully, please don't touch. I have had customers offer me a beer, etc. while I work...My professional response to such an offer naturally being,

man what the hell did i miss Dave? i dont fully understand what was said or who said what, but i can assure u that i was in no way contacted by anyone who would lead me to back out of the headlight clearing. i have some pending situations back home that are way more serious than anything i would like to do to my car, no matter how awesomely cheap the price is. perhaps i will either be able to ship you my lights and have you do them or just wait till the next time you grace the carolinas with your presence. i have searched these forums and have seen your work first hand and have heard not one negative thing about your services. i will in fact acquire your talents on my lights in the near future, wife permiting that is...

best regards,

eric

Dave,

I can't even begin to imagine that anyone could have anything negative to say about you, and especially the great work that you do !

You are one of the greatest assets, on this forum. I've watched you do a number of 'corner-clearings'...all of them with great expertise and results.

On a personal note, you are certainly one of the nicest gentlemen that I have ever had the priviledge of knowing .

Here's hoping that some 'asshat's' actions will not dissuade you from continuing to provide your excellent services .

Dave, I think I expressed my feelings about the situation to you yesterday in person with a few choice words.

As far as your work goes, all I can say is that this is the 2nd set of headlights that you have cleared for me and I am a very satisfied customer. It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your services to any other s2000 owner.

BTW, when I got home yesterday I ordered a set of LEDs for the turn signal bulbs. I'll let you know how those turn out.

Dave installed my halos yesterday (pics will be up soon) as well as swapped my diffusers from JDMs to USDMs and the man is a technician. Dave took more care with my car than I do. When I cleared my lights myself the first time, I just threw the whole assembly into the oven but Dave took off the ballasts, removed the bulbs and everything else he didn't want to bake.

I wouldn't hesitate to let Dave work on my car and wouldn't have any qualms about recommending his services to anyone too wary or too lazy (like me) to do this themselves.

You're an asset to the community Dave and it was a pleasure meeting and hanging out with you.

Dave, PM me his name.

My friends Vincent and Guido will be in town next week. They do very good work and they stand behind what they do and never had a complaint.

As for the person who bad mouthed you, I am sure that anyone who listens to someone like that is probably not too bright anyway.

Everyone one here knows how peculiar I am about my S and that I will not let anyone touch it who is not respectful of my property.
That said, you can work on my car anytime.

Peculiar? Or particular? Or both? <---- That's Raul's favorite.

Anyone who says w1ngman is anything other than first rate has a screw loose. Some of the nicest work and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Hell, I'd let hin take my car on the Dragon, and there are darned few people I can say that about.

So whoever is bitching about Dave - if you got a legitimate gripe, get it out and get it settled. Otherwise, please STFU, with all due respect.

Dave
