And what's up with welcoming ME back to the board? Where the heck have YOU been for the last, oh, YEAR?
Also, just know that I have also missed you and JagLady and yes, even your Bonner.

Here's the notation from my bill from the tech -
"Road tested and found noise intermittant. Inspected spark plugs and top of all four pistons. Ran a complete compression test. Ran a leak down test - had less than 3% leakage. Raised car and listened to various components using stethacope by increasing idle and was able to assertain noise was being caused by heat shield on battery to A/C lines. Adjusted heat shield to correct."
Yeah and all that for only $225!

It may be just me but, the rasing the car part and trying to find the MOST LIKELY CAUSE
of an intermittant metallic sound should have been FIRST in his troubleshooting steps.
If he had done this, your bill would have only been $35 bucks for half an hour of labor torque a bolt.

Well. . .considering that he spent 6 hours of labor and the dealership only charged me 3 hours of labor, how can I complain. Besides, never has $225 made me feel more at ease.

UPDATE!
The dealer just called me and they found the issue. It's the "Idler Pulley" and they also recommend I change the serpentine belt. Because I just paid them the $225 a week ago, they will do the installation free and have me only pay for parts (about $145). Parts should be in Thursday and my baby will be back home.
