Guys Need Your Help..
Whats up guys, i need yalls help. I am moving as i have said before to an apartment. Out from underneath the parents. As many of yall know my car is garaged basically all the time and i drive the LS ( which is my dads). Due to me moving and them moving to South Carolina i wont have that option. My dad wants me to part out the s and get another car which is a lil more suited for everyday driving. He basically told me i could get what i want just something bigger which will allow me to have passengers with me and carry luggage, schoolwork, etc. I looked at the G35 and M3. The M3 i feel is a bit overpriced as far as performance. I looked at an STI and EVO as well. I want to keep something performance wise as good as the S or better. I was wondering yalls input as well as how much you think my S would go for. Its an 02 with 30k even. Would i benefit from parting the car out then trading it in or selling it outright? I have tons on top of tons of parts i can sell. I want to keep the S but im not sure this is going to be something im goin to be able to do. If you can help me out. Im going to stay on the board regardless of what happens. I cant say enough about everyone of yall i have met. Yall are great people!
I lived in an apartment when I first got my S. Nice complexs normally have garage space for rent as well, at least the ones around here. I would hate to leave my baby outside but hate even more to part with her...
I don't think you need to sell the S, but if you'll have to keep it outside you probably want to part out some of the easily removable stuff. Once you move, its not like you'll need all the room of a sport coupe - 77% of car trips are taken with no passengers.
I know the S isn't that practical of a car, but its fine for daily driving. If you do need to sell it, definitely part it out or you'll never see the money you put into it. Didn't you remove your soft top? Not having a soft top will hurt the resale value.
If I had to get another car that offered more utility, it would be the G35 or a Legacy GT. Since you like to mod, a Legacy GT with a Cobb chip and an STI turbo and intercooler would net you a really fast car with four doors.
