Hello Again!
It has been a long time since I posted here . . . a recent run-in with a carved out sharp edged shoulder resulted in a return to the forums and a renewed membership. The wheel fitment guide and a great transaction through Jim @ Tire Rack resulted in a brand new set of Kumho Ecsta ASXs mounted on Enkei EDR9s and my S is hugging the asphalt better than ever!
I picked up my 2001 AP1 locally in late 2007 with about 50K miles . . . it has been my daily driver since then and now has 122K+ miles. Aside from a few door dings and a little front bumper rash she is still looking good!
I have only participated in one car club event - the 2008 Pinehurst meet. Is that one still happening?
I was in the Army then . . . I retired three years ago and I'm now enjoying life as a DOD Civilian.
I have spent the last two years doing homework on Porsches, intending to eventually become an owner (Cayman S then 911 S). I have since given up that line of thought and have decided to buy another S2K later next year. My current Silverstone badly needs a new top . . . after I recover from the wheels and tires along with 120K miles service interval I will tackle that upgrade.
I hope this finds all of my Carolina folk well - I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Regards,
John Hawke

Nice intro, welcome back! I'm not sure about a Pinehurst meet. We caravan up from Fayetteville to the Cars & Coffee meet in Raleigh (Brier Creek) on the first Saturday of every month at 9am. There is an S2000 group drive after the meet. Other than that, meets are random, and are usually posted on here ahead of time.
Hey John welcome back.
We don't do the Pinehurst anymore since they stopped opening on Sunday. I really miss that.
Come up to the Brier Creek GTG in January. Lots of new guys you will enjoy meeting.
