I Need Input Re Sway Bars
#11
I have been really happy with my 2001 front bar (2000-2001 were the strongest OEM fronts) and an MX5 front bar on the rear.
I don't know much about the MX5 bar because I got it third-hand. All I know is, it is much weaker than the OEM bar, so the inside rear stays planted under tight cornering. But, it also gives some roll support compared to disconnecting the rear completely. I don't think I could disconnect my rear completely because I already rub the fender wells under heavy load (Hog Pin).
The MX5 bar does not rub the OEM exhaust either.

Lee, depending on what you're trying to accomplish with the handling, try going with a larger front sway bar. I changed mine (AP2) to a Whiteline a few years back and it really calmed the rear end down, the car feels much more stable in the corners. I have to try very hard to make the back end come loose now.
I've not touched the rear bar, it's still the stock AP2 one.
