I have heard of using gasolene and kerosene while washing your car. However, the people I talked to who did it, used the gasoline to strip away the old wax. They rewaxed the car after using gasolene/kerosene. I have never used this method.

a few friends have tried the kerosene trick and say it works well. it does strip off the old wax and i can personally vouch for it lookin better than just a plain ol wash and wax. but the way gas prices are getting i would prolly just setle for a good ol fashoned wash and buff... but thats just me lol

I have done this with kerosene 25 years ago when auto paint was much different than today. It did work well then...
