Default Late September Mountain Ride

Hey fellow Carolinians. I'd kicked around the idea before of a meet and ride up the hill to Boone and Blowing Rock onto the parkway. Well, the later part of September seems like a great opportunity to put this thing together and for me to meet some of you. Please post your interest here and which weekend and day you'd prefer. I suppose we could meet up in Hickory somewheres near Hwy 321.

I'd be in, provided I'm in town. Saturdays are always best for me!

Definately interested! The last two weekends are best for me.

You'll need to nail the date ASAP so people can get reservations.

I was planning to set up a drive sometime in September or early October but was trying to work it out not to conflict with the Fall Colors event which is the last w/e of Sept. I don't think I will be going to FC this year but maybe some other local folks will be gone.

My idea was to meet up in the Winston-Salem area for lunch on Sunday and then do about a 1-1/2 hour drive up some good twisties working our way along the NC-VA border up to the Blue Ridge Parkway near Meadows of Dan. We could go north a few miles to....

Chateau Morrisette Winery

On Sundays through Oct. they have live entertainment out on the lawn. Of course there is wine tasting and gift shoppes also.

SakiGT and Cacophony82 made this drive with me back in June. See link below...

NC-VA Border Run

I have modified the run slightly and ran it another time to map it out.

Maybe we can attract some VA folks too if you all want to do this. I will be glad to put this together if there is enough interest.

I can go any weekend except the 17. Just need a weeks notice so I can take off from work.

Thanks,

Michael

Jay, that looks like a great ride. Can we do it on a Saturday?

Sure! I'll probably take I40 all the way. It depends on where we end up having the meet.
