I had a great time out there, and enjoyed meeting a lot of you for the first time.
Some nice rides out there too!
Hope lunch was good, sorry I couldn't stay for that.

Guys, I have a favor to ask. Would someone be willing to diagnose a slipping clutch for me after Cars and Coffee?
As far as I know, I'm still on the original clutch, nearly at 80,000 miles. Lately, I've had to deal with a LOT of stop-and-go driving at work, which I feel has been hard on the clutch despite my best efforts. I also had a particularly bad hill start last week that resulted in that unmistakable burnt clutch smell--which was a first for me. Yesterday, while shifting past 6K, I noticed that once I re-engage the clutch, the revs seem to hold steady for a few seconds before dropping down. I'm not sure if this is due to the CDV or not (I have an AP2). It's really unlikely that my technique is off since I haven't had this problem before with high-RPM shifts. I'm thinking that it's slip. To diagnose the clutch, I tried starting the car in 5th/6th gear and slowly letting the clutch out to see if it shudders. It did, which says that the clutch is fine, but I'm still getting the sensation that the clutch simply isn't grabbing immediately under high torque.
So... can someone with some knowledge/experience on the matter take my car out for a quick spin right before sitting down for lunch/beer? I just want a second opinion before dropping a lot of coin on a clutch replacement. I'll buy you a beer for your troubles!

Sounds like a classic case of a heavy flywheel and weak pp. It will get worse as the friction disk ages and gets worn out, but it is most easily fixed by installing either a lighter flywheel, stronger pp, or both. The CDV is entirely different. If you want me to take a look some time I can - its easy to spot the difference when you know what to look for.
