My accident was 99% driver. I was going over a concrete overpass thingy, and I hit the black ice. The car lost traction and swung to the right. I countersteered, throttle steered, and held the slide, and had it under control, and was about to let off the throttle to straighten the car back out, when the surface changed back to asphalt, and the tires gripped.
What was a controlled slide was now overcorrection, and before I could even register what happened, my slip angle was beyond saving. I went for the oh shit 2 feet in (clutch/brake), but at that point it was too late, and I hit the guard rail.
I don't blame weather, I don't blame lack of VSC. I just wasn't fast enough to react.
