My Bride's responce to my New COMPTECH CAI
#1
As I sit here in front of my computer parusing the s2ki board, JAGlady enters the room and says "I hear your car as you're coming up the street now. What's up with that?"
"Oh, that's just my new Comptech cold air intake" I said with a sheepish grin.
She looked at me and said in a VERY playfull way "VRROOM! VRRROOOOOOM!!"
Wondering if she was making a pass at me I decided to test the water. "Kinda throaty don't ya think?"
SMACK!!!
Man! Those punches to the back of the head bring you back to reality fast!

Just got my Comptech CAI today. Buddy of mine at Honda of Pasadena ordered for me. It is installed and boy what a sound. Kinda sounds like the STi even without the Turbo or the exhaust. Sounds pretty sweet. At full throttle, it puts out a tone only matched by the Honda 4 Stoke dirt bikes. It is really sweet.... My wife said the same thing today when I went to pick her up. She just continually says slow down, slow down, knowing what it sounds like when pushed. It is quite sweeeeet. Only problem is they forgot one screw for the top CF cover. Wrote them an e-mail, hopefully they will mail one out soon.....
Yeah baby.
Yeah baby.

SMACK! I get that quite a bit too. Maybe she's saying she wants you to spend the money on HER instead of the S2000.
Psssst: Get her a little something unexpected.......women don't want to admit it but......They can be bought!

Gosh, you guys are digging up some old stuff.
Since posting this I've change my CAI from Comptech to Injin. The instalation went slower than I expected. I painstakingly cut the hole in the wheel well to an exact fit, not an easy thing to do if installing it yourself. Having finished, I took JAGlady to the garage to show her. This time I wasn't going to make any comments about the "throaty" sound! I opened the hood of my car and proudly described the CAI saying (while bouncing my eyebrows up and down a few times) "Look how it snakes through the engine bay and into that tight hole."
SMACK!

I've come to realize that head-slaps are a way of life for me. I now wear a rubber skull cap around the house.
