It depends entirely on if your life matters to you, or not. I'm not trying to be an internet bully, but there is no way I would ever (ever,ever,ever,ever...) run harnesses like that. I'd never run harnesses without a proper aftermarket rollbar either.

First, your stock seat belt will allow your body to move to the center of the car in a rollover. If these work, your body will be pinned upright in the seat. If your head is taller than the steel tube inside the stock roll hoops, and you have a rollover, your head has nowhere to go. Game Over.

That said, I doubt you will be held in place with the harnesses like that. Our stock seats have no provisions for keeping the shoulder straps from spreading apart. What that means, is, in a rollover, the straps will slide apart, and you could very easily slide out of the harness. Being ejected from a car in a rollover has about he same survivability as the other scenario.

Sorry, but I am not at all a fan of that harness installation. There is no question that is significantly less safe than your stock seatbelt. It really bothers me when people put 'race' parts on their street cars and just make them more dangerous. Sorry if that's offensive.

I'm actually putting the a 4-PT roll bar with harness bar in this weekend, those are just sitting in there to see how the colors will look... But thanks for the concern for my safety Bryan. I just wanted to see what everyone thought about the color choice of the seats against the harnesses.

Roll bar or no, Bryan's point is a valid one. Harness installations that wrap around the back of a seat won't work properly in a collision.

Like Bryan, I'm not trying to be an internet bully either, just trying to make sure you're aware of the issue.

Unfortunately, that's not a great solution either. That hole is very small, so you'd have the opposite problem. The shoulder belts would be too close together, which would be uncomfortable as heck. I'm not sure how such narrowly spaced shoulder belts would respond in a collision, but it's certainly not ideal. Arguably better than going around the outside of the seat, but I think it's not "better," just "less bad." I occasionally do tech inspections for THSCC's track program, and both of the configurations we're talking about would fail inspection for track use.

(Note - other groups putting on track events may pass it, but that's unlikely)

If the belts are just in there for looks - and that's perfectly fine if they are - then no problem, as far as I'm concerned. I'd just strongly advise against using them, that's all.

(Again, I'm not trying to be a bully or anything, just trying to make sure people stay safe)
