Default NC DEQ test info please:

What are the requirements for regestration in NC? I presume there is a safety inspection and DEQ (smog) test.

What are the rules and what if the car does not pass? Retry until it does or does the car get taken and crushed?

We have several boosted Honda products in our office that is soon to transfer to Charlotte.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't pass, just try again. You do have emissions though so cars running on AEM or other standalones would have some troubles. This is illegal, but I do know of some people who, if you know a shady inspector, run another car thats the same as yours and say its your car. Honda's before 2002 I believe don't have the VIN locked into the ECU so this works, at least on Integras it does. Idk if the VIN's are locked into S2k's. But that is illegal, if you get caught haha.

I'd just register the cars in SC if you can find a way. No emissions or inspections. As hondanc7 said, any car using a standalone won't respond to an OBD reader, so it will immediately fail.

^That's right. It's not that the car won't pass emmisions with a stand alone ECU, it just want pass the OBD2 portion of the test. The AEM EMS does not keep the functionality of the OBD2 port, so an automatic failure.

KPro will pass NC emmisions and is OBD2 compatible. You just have to add several sensors and it is expensive as hell. By the time you buy the sensors and get it installed, it's probably at least a grand more than the AEM EMS. But I have heard it works really well.

Buy the way Hondanc7, please change your avator because my wife is going to catch me staring at that girls ass and I will be in trouble!!

I am screwed then. AEM EMS with the blower and all goodies = FA1L

Time to sell I guess.
