Default Test Pipe Help

Are all test pipes illegal? Does it matter which state you live in? Does anybody know if they are legal in NC? Has anyone passed inspection with a test pipe on?

It depends on what state you are in and if you have emmision testing. Here in Kansas we don't have any, so I run my test pipe on my s2000 daily and don't have to worry about it. Other states they will check, and if you have one you will NOT pass the inspection. Something to do is either A: Get an OEM cat to put on when you have inspections, or B: get a HFC.

I'm not sure about NC, just do a simple search on google to see if they have inspections there.

First off removing your cat from your vehicle is illegal. This is not a State law, this is a Federal one. With that being said, no cop is going to look under a car to see if you have one, especially if it's lowered. Then you have the whole emission's BS.

If I was running the stock ECU, I'd run an HFC, since it will perform almost exactly as well, but without the smell and soot. It sucks to have soot on the back bumper all the time.
