Need some rubber
I'm on my 2nd set of Fuzion rears and and still on the 1st set of fuzion fronts. I only got around 9000 miles out of the first set before they started hydro-planing above 55mph (about the same as the two sets of SO2's i had before.) Wear was pretty even across them and I always had an aligment done after replacing.
Handling wise they are ok but they're not SO2's. Best thing about them is that they are cheap. When the fronts are done (probably around the time the 2nd set of rears are worn) i will try something else.

I've never really experiences SO2s, or SO3s for that matter. I'm on the RE050s and while they are nice enough, I'm not entirely confident on them. I imagine the F1s to be supreme, but they are almost double the cost of the ZRis and don't seem to be too muchbetter. Can't find anybody who's had both.
I'm not keen on replacing tires every 10k miles, (or even every 17k). Considering the treadwear on the F1s and ZRis are both double that of the RE050s, I'm mainly worried about traction in corners.

hehe.... welcome to the S2000.
If you want good traction and push the car, be prepared to buy tires every 10k miles. If you want to buy tires less often, I'd recommend a beater.
There's no such thing as a good traction, high treadwear tire. It's just the facts of life. More traction = less treadwear = more money.
Just be glad you're not into autocrossing, where $800 worth of R-Compounds lasts about 20 minutes worth of driving.

My experience has been that unless i'm going drive like a granny I can't expect to get more than 10-12k on a set of rears without putting my life at risk in the rain. I'm willing to go cheaper and give up some grip and handling. The Fuzions are ok but i am probably going to try another cheaper set of tires next time when i replace all 4.
