Default New Blue in RTP -- this time it's me!!!

I picked up my new Suzuka Blue from Sanford Honda this morning. I ordered on 3/25. Was told the build date was 4/9. (Where do you find the exact build date on the car anyways?) On 5/21, I got the call from the dealer that it had arrived. Unfortunately, I couldn't pick it up until today on 5/23 because of conflicts. I wish they had given me a heads up a few days before it arrived, but it was nice to be surprised. So, 8 weeks plus a day from order to delivery, plus 2 more before I could pick it up.

It had 11.2 on the odometer when I first got in it. More than I thought would be on it, but not enough to worry about. I more than doubled it on the test drive I took before I signed the papers.

The dealer went overboard with my request to not wash the car. They left all the plastic on it too. It was sort of fun pulling it off when I got it home -- like unwrapping a present. I'm sure it didn't look nearly as nice while I was on the road heading home though. I hope to get a couple coats of Zaino on it this weekend before I start driving it regularly.

Also, if anybody is considering doing business with Sanford Honda, I wholeheartedly recommend them. I dealt with Ed Byrnes, an absolute pleasure to deal with.

CONGRATS!!

So are you happy with the color? I know that you were just a little skeptical about it.

We really wanted to buy ours from Sanford Honda, but just happened to not have to order one. I also highly recommend them. My fiance delt with a Mrs. Williams and he said she was quite upset that we didn't come out there. I think she probably could have given us a better deal, but when you can have it now or wait 5 months you tend to forget about the financial aspect.

Crown Honda in Chapel Hill wasn't that bad in getting a decent deal, but we have had a problem since. Someone else besides them cashed our down-payment check. I couldn't believe it, but they said that it wasn't in the books. Of course, it doesn't really effect us (at least that is what they are saying at this point).

HAVE FUN! What a great weekend to be your first with it!

I am completely happy with the color. Before I ordered, I was satisfied that I was making the right choice for me. I had seen both a Silverstone and a Suzuka at Auto Park Honda and was pretty sure I wanted the blue. My only doubt was whether the blue interior would be too much. During another visit to Auto Park Honda I was lucky enough to see the manager's blue with the top down. I ordered a few days later.

From Raleigh/Cary, you basically take US-1 south until you get to Sanford. One of the most boring stretches of road I've ever been on even coming back in my new S2000. You get off at 401/87 South exit, turn right and go about 3 miles.

I got mine for MSRP. At the time I ordered, everybody was saying that MSRP was a decent deal, and I'm not much of a haggler. So, I was happy to get list price.

Here's their website: Sanford Honda

Hey Tigger, I see you are already labeled as an owner. I put in my VIN # a while back and I am still labeled as an enthusiast. When I go back to my profile it says -- YES -- where the VIN goes. Do you have any idea what I did differently?

The only thing I can think of is you had bad timing. I read somewhere else that during the upgrade of S2Ki they had a bug where users weren't automatically identified as owners when they entered their VIN. Maybe you entered your VIN while the bug was there. I'm not sure who you need to notify to get your user ID updated.

By the way. I did the wash/clay bar/wash again/2 coats of Zaino routine yesterday. Boy is that car slick and shiny, and my forearms and wrists are sore. I can't imagine detailing cars for a living.

Thanks....

I already contacted the moderator but haven't heard back from him.

Where did you get your Zaino? I haven't picked any up yet and I really need to get a coat on the car esp. with the heat lately.

I know how it is after detailing a car. I will say that this is the smallest area (inside the car) that I have ever had, so I am hoping that it is easier than the previous cars that I have owned. I also have an Isuzu Rodeo and that has been neglected. I am not sure I have the energy to put into that after I detail the S2K.

I ordered mine directly from Zaino about a month ago when they had the special S2Ki purchase where if you ordered 4 products you got a free bottle of the car wash. There's a guy in Charlotte who is a distributor. He posts quite often to the "Wash & Wax" threads particularly when the subject is Zaino. His ID is STreece. He's been real helpful both in the forums and in a couple PMs that I sent him. I haven't ordered anything from him yet, but I may order the glass polish and the leather cleaner and conditioner. I haven't decided if I want to go with Zaino or something else for the leather.
