Nov 21st TRACK MEET at CMP
#11
I'm going to be a last minute entry, if I make it. Closing costs on the house are going to be higher than expected, and I have to drop a few hundred on some flooring materials next week. If the speeding ticket from Monday "magicly disappears" , then I might be in good shape for the track day. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm sending in my check today.
I'm thinking of buying a helmet, since I plan on using it on the track event at FC04 and hopefully a few more times in between.
Any suggestions on a $100 helmet?

WOW! is it SA2000? Coz I could not find a new SA2000 for less than $200
If yours is SM2000 then $99 sounds about right. But then again it is no approved for track use.
Obviously no one checked at CMP on the 17th... Or did you rent helmets that day?

I'm planning on sending in my registration information today. After weeks of begging I got approval to go from my fiancee (She found a job so money is not an issue anymore). I've only done one event prior to this one back in May at Watkins Glen but it was a two day event and it was a blast. The only thing I see different from that one is the pre-event car inspection. Where do you go to get this done?

You can do them yourself. Just print the form (from the first post) and fill it in.
It takes about 30 minutes. Each item is pretty clear as for what you have to check . e.g. loose hoses (just make sure the car is off and cold then wiggle each hose a little. If it comes of then it was loose :-) )
When you check the pads make sure you have close to half left. This track is hard on pads and you will go trhough at least 1/3 of a set of stock pads.

Looks like I'm going to have to weasel out of this one. I'm pretty much broke after closing, moving, and buying various 'house' stuff. Further, I've started to get some squeeling from the front brakes under hard application, so I'd need to replace them before another track day. Just not in the budget right now. I'll be at the AutoX's on 11/15, 11/29, and 12/6, though!
