I may be, depending on weather. If it's raining hardly anyone will show and isn't really worth getting rained on for.

Congrat's on the car and a nice find to be able to get an unmolested one.

welcome Nick! Car looks great and 9000 rpms can sure be a blast! I would having the retainers inspected at a minimum. A lot of people swap one side (intake I believe) out with AP2 retainers, but unless you're just really planning on beating on the car or doing a lot of track days with it I would just inspect them to make sure they're not cracked.

Good tires (Extreme performance category at TireRack) are the hallmark of an s2000 and really are the best mod you could ever do other than getting some track experience under your belt. BTW, there's still one day left to register for the Dragon if you would like to see 100+ S2000s in one place and get to come hang out with a bunch of cool folks who love twisty roads
Are they retainers easy to inspect? Is it as simple as pulling the valve cover offer and bam, they are right there?

I do plan on tracking it down the road, this is my first stick shift so I need to practice a bit more before hand.

As for tires I have decided to go with Bridgestone RE970AS's because this will be my DD. When I decide to track her I will throw get summers and have two sets.

Thanks for the welcome, I will be out at Cars and Coffee in Charlotte this Saturday (I'm pretty sure they are having one). Is anyone else going?
Good resource: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/521...ner-check-101/

I had a set of RE970s on the ap1 when I drove it back. Not bad tires at all

So here's a slightly less-than-stupid question. What do people drive to C&C? My S is more track car than street car now, and about 175° from show car. Do people go just to check out others' cars or is "show and tell" the best way to experience C&C?

Drive what you have. We aren't judges. All S2000s look good no matter what.

Yeah I went last month and saw a little bit of everything. There was even a group of Jeep Wranglers!

If you guys decide to head out to Cars and Coffee, ill bring my rice rocket. Supposed to be raining though.

Every time I went to CC, there was always a silver s2000 with SBC rpf1 and hardtop. Also a yellow one with hardtop.
