Rules for Touring 3 are what I had in mind. I remember reading a bit that stated the cars in that class couldn't be modified with FI and required an exhaust that was at least as far back as 50% of the wheelbase

Easiest would be to review http://nasaproracing.com/rules for whatever class(es) you're interested in. The excel calculators are particularly handy for Performance Touring or Time Trial classes as you can check boxes for mods you have, then play with the remaining points to easily see what combination might get you to the highest number of points per class. Honda Challenge doesn't have the same format, but you can read the allowed rules at the same link. If you want to run in sanctioned time trials or races with SCCA as well, their calculations are different. I haven't done the research but would suspect that a car that can run under both organizers wouldn't be optimized for either, but it all depends on how competitive you want the car to be.

Sweet . I'm glad you guys know what you're talking about along with having helpful info to share . Since the car was originally set up for roll racing there are a couple of things I've been adding to a list in order to have an organized plan to get it track ready. I don't need it to be competitive, more so just looking for something aside from straight line racing for once. How often do you guys make a trip to VIR?

I've spent 20 days on track at VIR this year, with 10 more planned before the end of the year. If you don't have plans and want to see what it's all about, there's a solid group heading up the weekend of 10/3-5 for the NASA Octoberfast event - me, bobby.is.rad, skatebrian, and maybe will010101010. Pretty sure it's free to spectate, if not just tell them you're crew for us and they should let you in.
