Paint Job
Looking to respray my car, get rid of some micro-dings, ect. A couple shops in the local area (Boone) quoted me around $2,500... I don't have a problem paying that much if I absolutely have to.. But, I figured I would ask if anyone has a "hook up" on paint. Maybe you're friends with a painter? Idk. Just on a tight budget. I'm willing to drive. Anything helps.
Thanks.
Thanks.

full car respray? Honestly I wouldnt do it unless it was $4,000 or more. $2500 is a pretty average or mediocre paint job from my experience. If you get it done right, its not cheap, but it also doesnt look like shit after 4 weeks on the road.

I was quoted $2500 just to respray my front bumper, hood and fenders by apex autobody....$2500 for the whole car seems cheap

When my red car got hit, I took it to Import Paint and Body here in Charlotte. It was about $1500 for the rear quarter and door panel, but the quality was better than the OEM paint job. I would definitely recommend them.

I had my front end stripped and resprayed at Paragon Collision in Raleigh last September. I spent about $2300 to repaint the hood, bumper and drivers side fender. (That's with me removing and re-installing all the parts myself.) I would expect a good quality full body job, in your stock color to be around $5,000. (I believe Paragon is pricey

Paragon is very good and very pricy - spent over $1700 on a dent to the front bumper of the 997.
Also check out Extreme Auto they are very good and i know the owner really well. They do factory audi/bmw/benz and have done work for the foreign cars italia crew. That is where we take most of our stuff to.

For those that had experience with Apex Autobody or Paragon:
How does the paint look, age, and "hold up" in comparison to the factory paint? The colors I'm looking at are Berlina Black (no sparkle/flecks) and Nighthawk Black Pearl (blue and green metallic flecks).
At some point I would like to have some areas repainted on both my cars, but am debating the value of only repainting certain areas versus getting the entire car repainted. My concern would be that the areas that get repainted end up looking great, but the areas that are "left over" end up looking their age. Especially, if the bodyshop does a super job and the paint quality is better than OEM, I'd almost prefer to have the entire car repainted so that I'd have more clear to work with over the next 10 years.

Darrin at Apex Auto Body has worked on my car twice now. In both cases, he went the extra mile in ensuring that the new paint matches the old paint perfectly. My S is Suzuka Blue, so it's not an easy color to get right. When I had a new bumper painted one time, he insisted on blending the fenders and hood as well so the entire front end looked uniform. The extra labor was at no charge!
Darrin is a consummate professional and a nice guy to deal with. I really recommend his shop. I know Brett can vouch for them too.

I have called them and written three mails to them and they have not responed back over a week's and a half time frame. I want to use them as they are close to me but apparently they are too busy working on Lambos and Porsches.
Does anyone have another recommendation for Charlotte, south Charlotte even better, but I will not be that picky?
