Havent even changed the oil on her since I bought her back in Sept. but when I had my ITR I always used OEM filters, they are def. the best quality.

More important, the weight of oil effects pump drag through friction/viscosity, so you can be more efficient with a lower weight oil. A synth can have an advantage in friction over the same weight dino oil, but remember that can be at the expense of protection.
