Default Reputable Tuning Shop

My name is Brett and I am new to the forum. I have a 2001 Honda S2000 Silverstone, and I am looking for a good shop around Greensboro, or would be willing to go to Raleigh for a good tune up. The car is mostly stock, with the intention of adding a CT Engineering cold air intake, and 78xxx miles.

Lol. No. I will install it myself, I was just wanting to take it in and get it tuned afterwards.

I don't think you're going to realize much gains with just a CAI... probably a couple of HP which might not even register on the butt dyno. I have an Injen CAI and the only huge difference is the sound.

A tune would make sense with a full intake/exhaust system (headers, test pipe or HFC, catback, etc.)... anyway, that's just my opinion.

I just feel with 78xxx miles and being 11 years old, it could do with a tune up. Ive only had it 9 months and have done all the fluids, spark plugs, brakes and tires. If it wouldn't be worth it, I'd rather spend the money on other things.

You don't need a tune, nor will it do anything. You also can't tune the stock ecu.

Then you've done right. Not sure what else you are looking for?

These guys are right, don't think we are trying to turn you away from tuning your car but the F20 and F22 are tuned so well from the factory that the MAF and O2 sensors pick up changes to correct the "tune" of the engine to compensate. If you are really adamant about having the car tune you will need a piggyback system at a minimum or if you are heavily modded like my S2K then you switch out the stock ECU and install a stand alone EMS like my AEM EMS. But I have a stroked and turbo built engine and all, just the intake is not going to get you a lot of gains like they advertise. You can possibly get a few WHP but its not worth the money you are going to pay a shop to tune your car. Get a full exhaust(header, test pipe or HFC, and catback exhaust), intake, and you will see a noticeable difference when you fork out the money to a tuning shop to tune your car on a piggyback system of a standalone. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask, but some people will still tell or ask you to use the "search" engine to find whatcha looking for...no worries though we have a meet every month in Raleigh and you can ask us all the questions you want lol

Thank you for all of the replies. I wasn't really sure about what all I should do for it. I will keep an eye out for the next meet in Raleigh.
