Ohhhh, that's what TYMEFLYS means! I thought it was Cuban/Spanish for "Timmy fell down the well!"

Hey...anyone interested in going whitewater rafting Saturday afternoon at McDragon????

It's been mentioned before and I figured that by Saturday mid-afternoon, the Dragon will be hot, busy and full of the "LEOs" , so why not go cool off in the river?

Nantahala Outdoor Center is on the Nantahala River, south of Robbinsville on Hwy 129. This is an "easy" trip, class II & III rapids. They have a 2:30 departure available on 8/18. (We'd have to leave Deals Gap around 1:30 - 1:45) The total trip takes about 3.5 hours; we'd be on the river for 2 1/2 hours. Here's some of the "scoop":

Nantahala Outdoor Center: http://www.noc.com/Rafting/Nantahala
Cost: $37 per person; all gear provided.
This is for a "partially" guided trip, meaning there's a guide every other raft or so. If we wanted "fully guided" (guide in our raft), it's $39 per person.

Who's interested?

Hey....you're the one who always wants to go "drive somewhere else" when the Dragon gets too crowded on Saturday mid-afternoons! <dig>

Just think about it; I'm happy either way!

I think the operative word for Raul is *drive* somewhere else. So perhaps we should *drive* somewhere else (if it gets crowded, etc.). I remember (was it juuust a year ago ) that I trooped off with a few other folks and we ended up out at Cade's Cove and ran a buncha regular ol' country back roads. It was fun...I think ya'll were gettin' wet on The Dragon that morning. Our area was top-down blue sky beauteous . Of course, we did have to forge a few creeks with our S2000s as we cruised through Cade's Cove...but it was very scenic
