Summer tires
I have the Hankook RS3's on my AP2 rims and the Hankook V12's on my AP1 rims. The RS3's are fine for daily driving around town as long as it is above 40ish degrees. I drove to cars and coffee on them the other morning when it was 20-something out and leaving my neighborhood was kinda like driving on ice, lol. Once I got on the highway they warmed up a bit and acted OK, but not great. I've driven in the rain with them only a handful of times, and while they weren't aweful, they weren't exactly good either. But if its 80 degrees out, I don't think you could ask for much better from a street tire. They are sticky, and they just eat up all the heat you can give them. I like having a co-driver at my autox events because it keeps the heat in the tires between runs in big run groups. Other people are spraying water on their star specs... I feel like I need a hair dryer out there, lol.
The V12's are great all-around tires. Excellent in all temperatures and in the rain, and decent performance for spirited driving. They don't hold a candle to the RS3's on course, but on the street, they get the job done very well.

I'm a true lover of RS-3. They are the best sticky tire for the price. But my car is a weekend driver. I guess it depends how much grip do you want. The more sticky you get the less driveable their are. The Michelin Pilot super sport have a great treadware rating while maintaining good grip levels and road noise and wet performance. Continental DW are not bad either
Had the same experience as CoolGuy on star specs in 36 deg weather...hopping on the on ramp to the interstate (35 degree, increasing radius corner) felt like they would give way at any moment. I wasn't pushing the car even. If you DD your car, it's better to be safe than sorry. Not saying you can't drive on summer tires in the winter, you just really have to dial it back and be safe.
