Default Unmarked Charlotte Cop on 485

I saw that one of our S2000 owners got pulled this morning by one of Charlotte's finest on 485 just west of the 521 entrance.

This cop drives an army green crown vic and he has stopped 3 sport cars in 3 days, including the grey S2000 this morning.

We need to watch out for this cop as he obviously has a problem with sports cars.

Lisa, I hope it wasn't you. I could not tell.

If the person who was stopped could share with us what sports cars are being stopped for, we would all appreciate the input.

John

I have seen that one (or someone similar) lurking around my neighborhood at 485 & Monroe/Independence.

Be careful everyone!

Thanks for the warning. Here's another, the new motorcycle cops love the Johnston Rd/485 intersection although I haven't noticed any sportscar bias from them.
A cop with a grudge, now thats scary

I think the unmarked one on 485 has been looking for just sports cars. A friend of mine was nailed in his Porsche last week on 485 and Johnston Road. He said he was doing 72. Seems awfully lame to pull someone fro 7 miles over.

As I said, this cop has a problem with sports cars as I saw him pull a BMW Z3 as well as the S2000 last Wednesday.

Maybe, someone needs to file a complaint about this cop for profiling.

This seems to work for others.

I think this is something we should probably pursue....or at least those of us in South Charlotte. If your friend has the officer's name, I assume we should be able to pull records to indicate his preference for sports cars.....or your friend can mention to his lawyer if he is considering that option.

I sent this note to Jimmy B -

Thanks for letting us know about your friend.

Can you look at Cheeta'ss message and ask your friend for the cop's name and description?

The one I saw has a mustach and was dark haired and under 30.

Thanks,

John

I responded to John. I will try and catch up with him this week and let you know what he says.

I was able to catch up with my friend before he caught his flight this morning. He said that it was a grey-green Ford Crown Vic. He did not have the officers name with him, but he did say that it was not a Charlotte COP, but a State Trooper that gave him the ticket.

Just as a warning. I was on my way into work around 7:30. Just past the Johnston Road Exit there was a unmarked Blk Crown Vic. My radar detector went off. Why at that time and that location would they put an unmarked car out checking for speeders is beyond me. Hell I am lucky at that point to be in 2nd.
