Unmarked Charlotte Cop on 485
In the past month ive seen CPD in a new unmarked Ford Taurus and an unmarked Buick Regal (yes you read that right!!!) the Taurus was on Independence and the Regal on Monroe.... when i saw the latter i was like, "WTF!?!?!" damn they are getting sneaky!
Got a new one for you. I was coming home this evening from work. Got off 485 at Providence. Made the right turn and was getting ready to merge in and there right behind me was a White New Ford F150. No markings just the blue lights in the head lights and grill. Talk about sneaky.
Are there any lawyers out there who have the "guts" to fight this BS.
Between the punitive, savage and archaic traffic court system in Charlotte which requires 2 trips to court to fight a ticket (unless you pay a "lawyer $195" to go for you), the fact that you are charged court costs whether you go to court or not and the use of unmarked police vehicles (add a new white Tahoe), someone needs to start fighting this as a group, class action issue.
Also, it would be great if we were able to warn companies who are considering a move here, of these and other illegal practices done in this city. God, I came from Philadelphia, which I thought was corrupt, but pales in comparison with what goes on here.
So, any attorney who feels the same way and is not afraid of these "good old boys", please come forward.

OK here's the scoop on cops Vs. sports car owners. For some reason, they get some sort of enjoyment of pulling a nice fast sports car like the s2000 over other cars. This happened to me one day outside of Charleston S.C. I was driving my father's 2000 silver S2000 at about 80 mph in a 70 zone. I was in the front of a pack of cars, but was the only sports car. I had the top down and i was just cruising into Charleston when a cop pulled 7 cars including mine over. He proceded to let the other 6 go and kept me. He gave me a ticket and off I went. Just another day in the life of a S2k owner.
They have also recently been targeting Ballantyne Commons between Providence and the 485 overpass (near the new school) -- have seen both unmarked red Ford and regular marked car giving tickets.
The motorcycle HITS officer and a regular marked car have also been sitting in the east entrance to Ballantyne CC on 521 (northbound lane) both morning (the motorcycle) and at night (the regular car) -- in addition to the motorcycle's usual hangout under the overpass at the end of 521 before getting on 485.
Finally this morning saw a marked car giving a ticket on 485 just before the west-bound Jonhston Rd entrance ramp comes in.
