I'm still here, i just let my membership lapse. I'll be happy to set the valves for you. I can still recieve pm's as far as I know as well. If not just email me at Japhethwar@aol.com. Its not a terribly difficult job if your a do-it-yourself kind of fellow though. A decent set of angled feeler guages and a basic set of hand tools will get the job done. Swapping out the retainers and keepers is a bit more involved, but still not impossible if you've got some mechanical skills. You can call the shop if you want a regular weekday appointment at 288-0927 or I could possibly be persuaded to do it one the side during the weekends. I'm sure there's a decent shop in your area that can handle the job if you not into driving my way though. Its kind of on the basic side as far as repairs go. I appreciate all the kind words as well. Thanks guys.

When your membership lapsed you are only allowed to get a certain number of PM's and then it is full. If you clear out your PM you should be able to receive new ones.

Bronlio and I did mine in the parking lot one day when we got bored. He did his ITR and I did part of the S as he started while I was still working on the brakes. Its not hard and I am sure there is a DIY thread. I use the Manual every time to ensure I use the right shim lol. But all you have to do is remove the valve cover and basic hand tools and remove spark plugs and all to ensure TDC pistons and you can make adjustments.

okay lets have a massive valve adjustment party. We just have to go some where and like wait six hours for the car to cool down. And obviously you cannot drink beer during that period so it looks that ain't going to work so just do it at home, all alone, at night, and drink a beer.

Personally, i'd much rather take my car the distance to someone who is a contributing part of the forum like japhethwar.
It maybe be reasonably easy to do for someone with mechanical skills, but outside of putting on springs or changing my exhaust - i leave anything else to someone who knows what they're doing

Maybe I am just uneducated in the "valve adjustment" and should do some research. To me it just seems like one of those things you should do every couple years to keep the motor in good shape and make sure you catch anything that might lead to trouble down the road.

off to the Under the Hood section to research....
