VIR on Aug 27-28
Hey everyone,
Just a heads up that there is an HPDE up at VIR on Monday / Tuesday, August 27th-28th. The group is Trackdaze and I do believe they allow S2000s with factory roll protection (if you're interested, it's always good to shoot the organizers an email to confirm). Im planning on being there with my ITR, but it would be good to see a few other S2000s out there. I ran the full course for the first time in June and it's super fun
Event details are: https://www.trackdaze.com/index.php?...temid=0&did=34

Thanks for the info Kevin on the broomstick test. It sounds like that's almost a given requirement without a hardtop. It's unfortunate because that really rules out anyone about 6' and above.

More like 5' and above. It's gotta go from the windscreen to the roll hoop without touching the top of your head with a helmet on.

yeah, I'm 5'10" and about 3-4" above the hoop w/ helmet on.>>FML

In some folk's cases, you can adjust the seat positioning / seat back angle and make the "cut", however, sometimes that sacrifices driving position.
In any event, I wish that S2000's were a little cheaper to get on the track. I really do see the value in the rules that are out there, though, but it's really tough to drop the money for a hardtop and then start spending money and taking time off from work for track days.

I didn't think a hardtop was considered valid safety equipment, but more for aerodynamics. I am pretty sure you'd still have to have a rollbar even with a hardtop installed.
