WTF is up with all of the crashing?!!!
I've been to a bunch of runs here in So Cal, and I haven't seen a crash, yet.
It sounds like thing were way out of control. Is there a thread with more details about the run?

I honestly don't know what got into people.... Like bridow i ran at 75%, and specifically told everyone before they got in the driver seat to keep a COMFORTABLE pace. Anyways, next year it will be strictly a CRUISE as a big group on the Blue Ridge Parkway (45-55mph), then lunch/dinner, then branch off to do whatever roads you please
High Tach will have ALLLLLLLL of the pictures up i'd say within a week. I'm still waiting on some people to send me their collection. I'd prefer to put them up all at once.

Many variables, one cause, driver error.
I was cruising 40%, pushed a few twisties to 80-90%, got a little brake fade, cooled it back down to 70%, turned out to be 110%, don't know exactly why, like I stated, many variables, but only one cause, driver error.
I feel really weird as I had slowed down, then lost the corner to kiss the mountain. I was one of the preachers on a soapbox about keeping it safe, as I normally do, and still believe. Believe me, mountain runs will be much slower and smoother in the future. Track days are cheaper than repairs, and I don't know how long it will take to repair my ego, as this was my first incident in 25 years of spirited driving.
I feel my incident was minimal, and I'm thankful for that, as it could have been a disaster.
If any good has come out of this, my son has learned that even skilled drivers can slip up in an instant, and he has slowed down.

I gotta tell ya my heart skipped a beat when I rounded that curve and saw the dust still in the air. Glad you and your son weren't hurt. Whats the word on the repairs? I'm guessing a new front bumper, bend out the passenger's side radiator suppport and at least a bent tie-rod.
Mountains are a tricky place to drive. They require 100% concentration all the time (specially if you are driving spiritedly).
I did a lot of driving in the mountains and have seen all sorts of accidents. Nothing scares the sh#t out of you like driving behind a family member and watch them loose it on a turn and slide into incoming traffic (he missed the incoming truck and ended up in
the ditch - needed a new hood, no injuries).

I think that Evo could use *ONE* more sticker.
