I just wanted to let everyone know that there is an autocross this weekend in Columbia at the South Carolina state fairgrounds. So far, Bryan (SC_Highlander), Brian (bridow), and myself are going to be there and running. I also saw this morning that Patrick Brown from Charlotte is going to be running as a novice. Is that anyone here?

Anyway, as it is, there should be 4 S2000's out there and plenty of other folks. Anybody else interested? It's $25 to run if you're not an SCCA member and it's free to just hang out and watch. If you want to find out more, check out the website at this link:

Bryan, Brian, I look forward to seeing y'all out there! I've got some new VictoRacers on the way! They should be here tomorrow!

Uh oh.... very tempting. I will be in Kershaw the day before.... I am driving back that night to go to the SunCom car show on Saturday.....

I wonder if Raul gets too pissy if I bail out and stick around SC for another day??? :-)

For some reason I thought the novice people still ran with the normal, non-novice run groups. Is that not the case? I would like to run with the BS group and I'm not really woried about 'standing' since I'm coming in so late in the season. Of course you guys may want me in novice just for an easy target, right??

If you run novice, you'll still take your runs in the same run-group as BS, but your results will be based on your PAX'ed time against all the other novices.

Yeah, Garrett -- I'll trade you my "shaved, heat-cycled Victoracers" for your new ones. That's such a deal!!! I fully expect them to last the rest of the seaon as long as I don't go to a track day or something.

I don't think that this is always true. I'm pretty sure that at the last Florence event that there were so many novices that they made up their own run group.

Just to give you an idea of why I think Novice is a bad idea, I figured up some numbers for the last autocross. If you would've had the same time as bridow (which was the fastest S2000 out there that day) you would've come in 7th place in the Novice class because PAX is so tough for us... Running in just BS, you would've tied bridow for 2nd place!
