Default what's a "crossover cable?"

Ok I have Road Runner and an Xbox, I read that post about Xbox on RR and decided to try to play online.

Well im not sure what a crossover cable is..can anybody explain? and how do i know what my ping is when im on Gamespy site? thankx

I crossover cable is modified rj-45 cable that basically reverses the pins. It allows you to connect two computers without the use of a hub.
You may want to research a little more though as you are probably going to have problems if your XBox tried to access the net through your computer. Road Runner doesn't jive well with net sharing.
You will probably have to drop around $75 for a simple router if you want the XBox and PC to be able to share the connection simultaneously. If you don't need simultaneous connections, buy a cheap hub & disable the switch of the connection your not using.

What OS are you using?? XP and a second network card or a cheap hub may solve your problem. I don't have Xbox so I cant be more specific.
