Default WTB: AP1 Flywheel

Ok, so I was planning on getting my clutch replaced this weekend in New Bern by ECU Pirate (George) who thought his local shop was open on Saturday to resurface my flywheel. But we found out today the shop is NOT open, so I really need an AP1 flywheel THURSDAY OR FRIDAY if possible. It would need to already be resurfaced.

I can do this several ways, 1, give me your AP1 flywheel resurfaced, I swap it into my car with the new clutch, and I bring you back my flywheel (resurfaced or not, your choice) and give you some $$$, or I just buy the AP1 wheel from you (resurfaced or not).

I am in Durham and my work schedule is full now through Saturday, so you would either need to be close to me or close to New Bern. Help me out guys!

J

S2k Perfor, I'll PM yo if I can't find a solution before Saturday. I may pay you a little more and just have you ship it to me (if you will) and then get it resurfaced.

Flat rate USPS boxes. My dirty little secret for shipping clutches and flywheels.

So you are saying that everytime someone with an S2k gets a clutch job that they should buy a new flywheel? Hardtopguy sells them for $290, that would make a clutch job insanely expensive.

Yes. It will cost you around $900 to do it yourself or atleast thats around what i payed. When i brought my oem flywheel to get resurfaced they refused to, saying that they did one a few weeks back and it caused the customers car to slip ( This was at t-hoff). Then they went on to show me the bulletin that got from honda. So i just threw the flywheel back in without resurfacing it and lost the clutch about 20k later. I assume the flywheel caused premature failure. So i decided to go with a light weight fidanza flywheel, which has an interchangable plat on it where the clutch makes contact for about $400.

Stock vs. Fidanza

It only cost a little bit more to replace the friction plate than it would be to resurface the oem flywheel
