2000 Grand Prix White S2000 w/ 61k Miles in Atlanta GA
I am finally selling my S2000 after 6 years of ownership.
The car is in Atlanta GA. It is an '00 GPW with a red/black interior. I am the 3rd owner and have owned it for almost 6 years and 35k miles. I purchased it in '07 with 24k miles on the clock. It now has just over 61k. Original owner bought it new in late '99 (It is production #466) and put 5k miles on it and then traded it in after 4 years. Second owner was an operating room tech and bought it with 5k miles as a CPO car and sold it to me when it came out of its extended warranty. He barely drove it and was selling it to buy a hardtop convertible Lexus SC430 if that tells you what kind of driver he was. The car has clutch buzz and he did not realize it because he never drove the car hard enough to find out (did I mention he bought a Lexus SC430 to replace it?).
It's in excellent shape. I'll post pictures later this week, but it has one door ding on the rear quarter by the gas tank, light mark on the rear bumper, and one ding on the passenger door near the door sill. I can have these removed before purchase at buyer's expense. It is completely stock. All maintenance has been documented since 5k miles and documented in the manual.
It has GM Synchromesh FM in the transmission, Mobil 1 in the differential, Honda coolant in the coolant system, Honda fluid in the clutch system, and ATE Blue in the brake system. New centric rotors up front as of this year and OEM AP2 pads front and rear. I have used Castrol Syntec 0w30 (German) exclusively since I purchased the car in 2007. Before that it only saw full synthetic Mobil 1 in the engine. Engine was broken in properly and it does not consume even a quart of oil every 3000 miles (updated just checked this today). I change the oil every 5000 miles, differential every 10000 miles, and transmission every 20000 miles. Tires are Potenza RE-01Rs and have been on the car for about 5000 miles. I performed the 60k service back in June 2009. Last oil change was at 59,918 miles. In 6 years I've never once had it above 4000 RPMs on a cold engine (typically never above 3000), and I'm sure Robert never did, either.
No major accidents. Front bumper cover was replaced due to an incident with a wild animal. All panels but the front bumper carry the original VIN sticker. Front passenger fender has seen some light paintwork due to a large scratch, but the match is perfect and guaranteed for life by one of the vendors on this forum. Had it done twice to make sure it was better than factory. Someone tapped it on a city street. It is the original clutch so it does have clutch buzz, direct from Honda.
KBB Private is $18,502 as of 3/11/2013. I'm open to reasonable offers. KBB trade-in is $16,402. Asking $15,900. GPW S2000s go for more than other colors. If you want a cheaper car, buy a yellow or suzuka blue. I had an offer of 15.5k last fall and turned it down because I was not ready to sell. I also had two "lowball" offers of 15k, sight unseen.
