2001 S2000 + goodies in NY/Long Island area
I am a university professor, taking a year-long sabbatical leave and
am selling my beloved silver 2001 S2000 which I owned
for the past almost 6 years.
Mileage: 93000 miles (+ going on a longer >700 mile trip soon).
Color: Silver. Black leather interior.
I can't seem to post pictures because the "your albums link" is broken but
here are some pics http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/cto/1912201880.html
CONDITION
The car was driven rarely, and mostly on a 100 mile round-trip commute.
It has been garaged for 1.5 years out of the 6 I owned it. Absolutely
no mechanical problems. Rear latex windshield had a crack in it for the
past 2 years. Didn't bother to fix it -- can be fixed for $50 in 1 hour
(I could help you do it if you care -- I never cared enough, I mostly
drove it in the spring/summer with the top down).
MAINTENANCE
Car's mechanics were maintained very well.
Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil only since I bought it.
Changed differential fluid with synthetic.
Changed gearbox fluid with synthetic.
Handles and Drives Amazingly.
NEW STUFF
New high-performance tires (replaced < 2000 miles ago).
New rear brake-pads included, but didn't change them because not needed yet.
EXTRA GOODIES
Since I am not going to drive for a while I am throwing in a brand new car TomTom GPS unit
A S2000 outdoors/indoors car cover.
Installed oil pressure gauge.
Installed oil temperature gauge.
Eibach Pro-Kit Performance Springs (0.75 inch lower than factory -- amazing handling).
KONI Yellow Super-Sport Shocks/Struts (adjustable).
Front Strut Cross-Bar for improved handling.
I am including several things in the deal: brand new rear breakpads,
leather cleaner, S2000 factory service manual, full change of Mobil 1
synthetic motor oil, a bunch of other goodies.
SPECS
The S2000 is possibly the most beautiful and well engineered 2 seater car
mass produced. Its engine is the most efficient naturally aspirated mass-produced
engine at 120HP/liter. I love this car. Here are some of the specs for it:
Base Number of Cylinders: 4
Base Engine Size: 2 liters
Base Engine Type: Inline 4
Horsepower: 240 hp
Max Horsepower: 8300 rpm
Torque: 153 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 7500 rpm
Drive Type: RWD
Turning Circle: 35.4 ft.
More on the car here:

VIN: JHMAP11431T009684 (no salvage, clean title)
I don't have a carfax account but if I get enough requests, I will run a
carfax and provide it. Car was in two almost identical parking-lot minor
fender benders 3 years ago -- resulting in a scratched side-panel and a
broken headlight (the same twice, fun fun) being replaced. I have pics
to show on request in case you worry about that.
PRICE
Edmunds says $9,250 for private party, $10,600 for dealer.
I am asking for $8950. I'd like to sell it before I leave.
PRICE MATCH
It is impossible to find a better price for a S2000 in this
condition. If you do and show me any credible lower price, I
will **try** to match the price and give you an additional $200 off.
REDUCED PRICE FOR STUDENTS
Enrolled students with active student ID get 5% off automatically.
CHECKUP
Taking the car to the mechanic of your choice for a check-up is no
problem. There are absolutely no problems with the car. Serious buyers
only please. No joyrides.

Being an enrolled college student, if only I could take the car to school I would be all over this deal. Great posting, good luck with sale you shouldn't have a hard time.

Very interested! How long have you owned the car for?
Where are you located exactly?
Can you send as many pics as possible to garabedians836@strose.edu
Thanks!!

All, thanks for the interest!
As mentioned in the ad, I've had the car for almost 6 years.
Davey, Steve, pics went out as requested.
The car can be seen/driven on the
Stony Brook campus where I usually park it. I am not driving it
into the city too often -- when parking is an issue and I am flying
out too much to be able to move it from spot to spot every few days.
cheers,
radu
