N.CA - 2002 AP1 S2000 177k miles

I acquired this 2002 S2000 in non-running form earlier this year (2023) because it had a spun rod bearing. I managed to repair the spun rod bearing and it’s running good now, but I have lost interest in finishing this project, as I have too many things going on right now.
Here’s the Pro’s:
- CLEAN CA TITLE, in my name and on hand - ready for transfer
- Registration up to date (2024 sticker) and all back fees paid.
- Smog passed on 11/11/2023 (good for 90 days)
- Runs and drives
- Refinished, in pristine condition a set of 2009 S2000 CR rims with a set of brand new Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS (225/45R17 (front) and 255/40R17 (rear) tires
- Carbon Fiber hard top in decent condition, unknown brand
- Soft top in brand new condition
- upgraded head unit and sound system with subwoofer in the trunk
- K&N air intake
- Tein Coilover suspension
Now for the Con’s:
- during cold starts, minor rod knock can be heard for 3 to 5 seconds, but once oil pressure is up, knocking goes away
- driver’s exterior door handle requires replacement
- driver’s window regulator requires replacement or rebuilt. Window doesn’t go up or down, stuck in half way open position
- front and rear fenders are rolled, work was performed by a beginner
- aftermarket AP2 headlights with aftermarket LED lights
- aftermarket AP2 front bumper and lip. I reattached it as best as I can for now, but will require replacement
- drivers seat bottom is ripped along the seam, it’s really not that bad, I’ve seen worse
- missing left and right fender liners and various underneath dust covers
- missing one cooling fan
- desperate need of an alignment - camber, toe and caster is out of spec causing the car to be unstable above 65 mph
- drivetrain vibration, common issue on older, lowered S2000’s as the inner drive shaft bearings are wearing out the inner driver shaft buckets
- rear interior trim pieces require reinstallation, but all there
- cheap mufflers welded to the OEM exhaust piping - doesn’t sound good
- will need some minor body
This is the perfect candidate for a winter project - spend some time and make this your spring or summer track monster or a full blown resto-mod with a stroked F24C or K24 swap. It won’t take much to get it there.
