We didn't bring chains because the forecast was good weather. The Acura MDX has 4-wheel drive, but we were stuck. We had to be pulled out. Big Bear got more snow in 24 hours than it did all last winter -- then 50% more the next day. They closed all roads out both Sunday and Monday. Monday night it got down to 10

Thats the fun thing about going to the mountains..assuming your in a house with plenty of provisions

 

 

We always made sure that we kept plenty of provisions ( ) in the house in the mountains, and that was also had plenty of provisions ( ) in the car when we went up there as well ... just in case

 

We ran out of food, bottled water, and booze on Monday. I had to get the realtor's maintenance guy, Gabriel, to drive me to the store. It was packed with incredibly long checkout lines, 25 shopping carts deep. I said "Gabriel, what is all this shit?" He replied, they're all stuck up here and out of stuff, George. The roads out are closed."

 

I used to like getting snowed in.... long as there was enough food and water.
