I probably will get a decent digital camcorder to record some video footage... But what software do I need to edit/compress?

I have a bunch of street racing videos shot on my neighbor's 8mm camcorder. What do I need to upload them?

They really are pretty sweet. We call them Granny Sedan Racing.

Example: E55 AMG

"This is the first installment of Granny Sedan Racing. Today, we're racing Brant's 2001 Yamaha Raptor 660R with an FMF pipe."

...

"I'm gonna start in 2nd gear."

"No, go all out! I wanna see how fast it is!"

...

[E55 AMG stays right with the Raptor, from 0-70mph.]

"Dude, what happened? I kicked your ass!"

"I think my clutch is going bad."

"Excuses!"

I'm offended by that last comment, Chazmo! Who's to say that we women cannot also be interested in automobiles, just like you men? I know many women that are more into automobiles than all of you men put together!

Damn stereotypes.

You need Final Cut Pro 4, but first, you need a Mac

I think I'll just put them on a CD(s) and mail them to one of y'all with the proper software, editing know-how, and broadband connection.

Actually the hard (and expensive) part is getting them from analog (8mm) onto your PC... compress them into a DiVX avi (best compression scheme right now).
