I just heard a terrible, terrible story. My geologist's black lab got into some grapes. He ate probably a pound of grapes. He started to go downhill over the next couple of days. Gary took Marcel to the vet. The vet did bloodwork and said "This dog has kidney failure." He was referred to an acute care specialist who put Marcel on dialysis. $11,000 later he had to put Marcel down. Grapes are toxic to dogs' kidneys. Don't let your dog anywhere near grapes.

I have heard this before. My dog would rather eat dirty diapers than grapes though.

 

thanks RB! i know katie will pretty much eat anything and i know my parents have fed her grapes, luckily only like 1 or 2 though.

Gary raises guide dogs. Guide dogs in training go everywhere with their "owners," including restaurants. Marcel came to many of my drilling jobs. Marcel flunked out of guide dog school so Gary got him back. Gary was extremely attached to him.
