Seems like you're in the spirit there, Aquila!!

[alotofoink]The RX-8 has that unique engineering aspect to it, and a 9K (albeit rotary) redline. To me, given the hardware and the price, it's got the S2000 squarely in its sights. First real competition, I suspect.

That said, you're right of course. It's a totally different concept. I have no desire to trade the S for it, James, but I'm interested!

I'm a huge Mazda fan... I wish them well with the RX-8, and I do want a drive.[/alotofoink]

There was a slight mishap at one point ......

Yeah, no one hurt, but I doubt that they will be getting that one back on the road

Spun it in a corner at a reasonably high rate of knots ...... rear end and front end pretty much trashed

but the driver was fine and no one else was involved at the end of the day, that's what the insurance is there for

That's good to know. Cars can be replaced, people cannot (unless you talk to my company's CEO, that is).

Bummer for the person though.

I had a similar experience not too long ago, as you may recall. But I was more fortunate. It was just an Integra in my case, and I didn't lose control of the car too badly. Neither did I damage the car very badly, it's still quite drivable.

Exactly

It was a real shame since we had had a great day .... I was literally 10 seconds behind him when it happened ....

Everyone is fine and his insurance will pay out .... so what is there to worry about ?? Apart from the wait to get the next S2000 of course
