Gotcha. So, the vessel is clean, but everything that fills it or comes out of it is sin?
Especially the latter.

If that's the case, why do we bother with religion? If we're doomed to be filled with (and spew) sin, what's the point of trying to get back in God's good graces...?

Which leads me to my next question...

Is it really true that nothing worth having is easy?

God's grace is permanent and good, and readily available. It is upon faith and acknowledgment of the Grace that we find our lives changed. . .

. . . and then the real fun begins.

Original Sin, to me at least, is a great burden lifted off my shoulders. Consider it the same way one would approach the First Noble Truth of The Buddha (Dukkha):

"This is the noble truth of suffering: birth is suffering, aging is suffering, illness is suffering, death is suffering; sorrow, lamentation, pain, grief and despair are suffering; union with what is displeasing is suffering; separation from what is pleasing is suffering; not to get what one wants is suffering; in brief, the five aggregates subject to clinging are suffering."

No. The answers to many questions are simple enough, and that is one kind of easy. However, many answers are heavily obfuscated, which is a form of difficulty or complexity.

If you want the person to die a particular way, then the path should be clear.

Unkie, If a hen and a half can lay an egg and a half in a day and a half, how long would it take a monkey with a wooden leg to kick the seeds out of a dill pickle?
