There's a lot of variables that dictate that: oxygen supplies, the state of their Sherpas, food, weather. . .

wuz watching a special on it and ended up getting to hear the answer which was not very long so your correct as per usual UT just seems kinda strange to me to accomplish SUCH AN AMAZING FEAT then to have like a couple mins n say ok lets go back down they said WAY MORE have died on the trip down then up

Sherpas are people. . . they're a tribe that live in the area. The particular thing with the tribal members though, is that not only do they live at very high altitudes, but they're physiology lends itself to be extremely good mountaineers.

Sherpas are almost invariably the guides for the Himalayan expeditions.
