We can see smoke from La Crescenta and that's probably close to 50 miles as the crow flies. We're putting off our Big Bear trip for a week.

I'm in the tallest building for at least 50 miles in any direction except directly to the west (downtown Long Beach)... so yeah, decent view.

Not much to see most days, though.

Which building? The taller building to the west is the World Trade Center?

I'm in Orange County, George. There's nothing tall around me, so my 8 story office building affords an expansive view. Downtown LGB is to the west and the condos on the waterfront are taller; downtown LA is about 50 miles NNW of me and obviously there are numerous taller buildings there, and there's a few buildings in Irvine that are taller. But if I'm looking north, east, or south, I have a nearly unobstructed view for as far as you can see. So when it's clear, I get a nice view of the mountains.

It hasn't been clear lately.
