Don't get me started with Kenny G. . . as my conducting teacher said; the dude gets paid by the appoggiatura.

What I will say though, is that somebody got us college band nerds a tape (you remember cassettes? Wow.) with Kenny G playing with the UW jazz band when he was 13.

I dunno. . . I'm still a bit partial to the stuff he did in the '60's. I will say though that Zappa having "Tom and Jerry" open for him was brilliant.

 

zappa brilliant, PS's marketing skills, and timing also brilliant. Soul sucking, not so cool

 

My only complaint about Mr. Simon is that he can't teach; I saw video of him at a songwriting masterclass. . . and. . . ugh. . .

although songwriting masterclasses can be inherently douchy.

 

Then that is not a sensitive enough differentiator. It pains me to even think about him.

 

Since when has this forum been about sensitive differentiators?
