I have a tat as well. I designed it and had a world re-known tat artist in Virginia do it. (my bro is having a tropical underwater scene done on his back from this guy and it looks fantastic)
the pain....depends on where it is done. Initially you feel pressure and then some pain then warmth...finally, you have sensory overload and you feel NOTHING!!!! So worth it if you want a tat and I would think hard and long to have a tat that means something to you.

Here's the mission I layed out:
The basic design is a yin yang symbol. This is the symbol of Pisces...my sign. One half would be red and the other blue. This is symbolic of the South Korean flag...where I was born. Each half of the symbol would be the image of a parrot. This is the symbol of a Jimmy Buffett fan...a Parrothead.
B!!! You're getting a TAT!?!?!?! Why didn't you come to me!?!?!
Getting my 5th on VERY soon... will probably mess around with the font...

Well, I've been pondering it off and on for several years. The current design concept incorporates the original idea of having a parrot, as well as several other aspects of the design that just make it more special/enduring to me.
The more I think about this concept the more I like it. Now I just have to get the concept on paper in a design that resonates with me.
Anyone who wants to...feel free to take a crack at it.

So, wild , where are you getting this tattoo?
I will probably get it on the underside of my left forearm.
