It will depend on the complexity of the final design, I guess. If it's a complicated/time consuming design, I'll probably do it in the stages you suggest. If it makes sense to do so, however, I'll probably try to do it all at once for that whole instant (relatively) gratification aspect.

B - you could always go down to a reputable tattoo artist... dicuss with him what you want... and he will render a drawing for you... it will take a few days time and then he will tattoo it on ya.

 

Yeah, I've just been killing time and trying to come up with a concept until I have the time to go visit an artist...

I want to go in with as much of an idea (conceptually) as I can.

 

I'm also trying to decide whether to go with an artist down this way (far more convenient) or travel up to Seattle (less convenient, but more artists to choose from)...

 

I could recommend someone good in LA.... that's not at all convenient....
