lets say 4 buck average per drink at this place... lets take away .5 billion and say that misc stuff and not drinks..

thats around 700million cups sold....

I think you missed my point. Yes, they are a fair sized player in the market....but the market itself is a fairly small market in the grand scheme of commerce. And Starbucks is better than almost anyone on getting the consumer to spend more money than they wanted to!

I still marvel at the business model...on getting consumers to spend $4.95 and up on a products that costs probably 0.75 cents

thats not small...it is a market nich but its not a small market nich.

im mean Coffee is huge!!!! when you get into the Billions in sales..that is a huge business especiall when a product is only selling for 5 dollars...

Movie theaters is the best marvel of them all.. it cost 10cents for the cup of soda and 5 cents for the flava...add 1cent for water and that poppy stuff... and a large goes for $4.50!!!!!!!! And all theaters barely make a profit.

then again movie theaters make such a small % at the box office.
