Mike-Alright, the car audio store that is sponsoring me wants my car to just go crazy on it, but I have very little say unless I want to add more things. The reason I would let them add more is for shows because the system is already too boomy for me, and they want to make it more so. Anyway, I'll tell you what they/I want to do and tell me what you think and suggestions. Thanks!
Ok, first off, they want to put a 7" TV on a gooseneck(like NFRS2000NYC(?) just did), then hook up a JVC DVD player/CD/MP3/Radio deck to the TV and replace my crappy Sony deck. Then put a color rearview camera in my trunk keyhole and when I hit reverse, it would automatically switch to that on the TV. Next on the trunk lid put a set of Polk MOMO Components and a 10" Accellevision TV hooked up to the DVD player and have it covered in Carbon Fiber with a cutout for the S2000 logo in plexiglass with a neon light behind it so it will glow. What I want is to throw some LED's in there placed on the components for some cool lighting effect(IMO). Then they would replace the front speakers with some Focal Utopia 3-ways and add another RF amp(already have 3) and have that power a 8" Kicker Solobaric L7 that is placed between the seats where the secret compartment is. I have a harness bar there anyway, so it won't matter if the space is taken up. Then I'd have a TV mounted in each visor that would have a little camera in it so you could see yourself in the TV(like a mirror). Later would be a NAV system, but even with my hook-ups, I don't think I can afford all this, but we'll see.
Comments? Suggestions? Some things I have no say over is the JVC DVD player, Kicker sub, and TV in the trunk lid. If they work on the car, they are putting them in. Also, would only having one set of 3-ways not be enough to overpower 3 WOOFERS! If I do more speakers...where? They can't go behind the seat because amps will be put there. The shop suggested kick pods, but I don't want to sacrifice leg room. Can you detach the bottom third of the door? If so, I think they'll remake that in Fiberglass and put another set of components in. Yeah, well I am done talking. Thanks for your help!

WOW sounds ambitious!!! My cousins has a Boxster S and he just put a backup camera in it..he loves it!

Where would you mount driver# 3 for the 3-ways?
I wouldn't worry about the extra sub overpowering it...you can always tune them down....adjust the gains and HU sub output..for shows it will make a great impact

I love the trunk monitor idea, I considered this but the budget didnt allow it (no sponsorship for me ) Make sure they run extra inputs so you can hook up a camcorder/digicam...and a PS2 of course

The extra 3 ways can fit in the doors , if you chop the bottom like you mentioned, my cousin also did his in his Boxster to put 8" subs in them, then glassed out the doors to give them a finished look , I have pics if you need them

The Visor TV's I dont love...the quality is crappy at best on the ones I have seen and you will find them in your way...(thats what the S owners that have them say! Just become a dash and CUT IT

Oh and upgrade your alternator ,and battery (if you didnt already) consider a second battery ..it makes showing off the toys much easier at shows

Mike, thanks for your comments. I definately need a new battery. Where would I get an upgraded alternator? I made sure there was extra inputs. And for the visor TV's, the visors would be completely re-made, so the stock ones would be gone. The number 3 driver doesn't have a set location, we are still brainstorming custom ways to mount it. Thanks again for your comments! It'll be a little while before this happens, but I'm hoping that it'll be done for Raptor's BBQ.

I would get a yellow top if you dont already have one Deep cycle baby!!! My second battery is a yellow top.

Your shop should be able to get an upgraded alternator for you, you might not need it if you get a yellowtop and a cap.

Its not the viosrs that are the problems, the TV's made to fit the visors are crap, unless you do something totally custom. And just imagine driving around with your visor down all the time..it chokes of your vison quite a bit.

You can do a 3 way , tweet in the A-pillar, mid in the kick panel( or I have seen them flush mount in the dash top) and other driver in factory location, but make sure your head unit has time correction to bring the sound-stage back together

I have a .5 farad cap and with the yellow top would I need an alternator? With the stock battery and the cap I've run several test like battery draw, VAT 40, etc. and the alternator is doing it's job with the sound system, HID's, A/C, basically everything on, so I don't think I'll need one with the yellowtop, but you know better than I do. I know very little about car audio.
Would I have to have the visors down all the time? If so, there is no way I'll do that. That'll suck!
I like the idea of having the midrange in the dash, but would that sound very good having it aiming up. Again I don't know much about car audio, but it seems like having the mid-bass in the dash would be better than the midrange? I'll check on the deck, it is the JVC KD-DV5000. That's about all I know right now.

Get a yellowtop and upgrade to the Alumapro 5 Farad cap that should smooth out any power issues, if you want to play for long periods of time w/o power...get a second battery instead of an upgraded alternator.

Yeah the mids in the dash is nice but definitely NOT the best for SQ (sound quality) but I always look at it as ...its a convertible its never going to be the perfect medium for sound anyway, and a 3 way will give you more sound than 2 ways. (that being said I have a killer 2 way setup )

If you do go with the 3 ways and a creative mount this will make the need for time correction even greater. (search for posts by Shaner, he has my speakers (Dynaudios) but he has the 3 way setup with mids in the dash

You only will need to have the visors down when you want to view video source (ALL THE TIME WITH NAV) thats why I see some of the guys in the electronic forum compiling about that kind of setup...to restricting on vision

DO IT!!!...become a dash

The NAV would run throught the all the TV's yes, but I will have a TV on a gooseneck in the center console so I can always use that. That would also make it so I wouldn't need a dash TV. I like that I can fold the gooseneck away when I am parked so people don't know I have a TV. Less reason to steal stuff...even though my car has plenty to steal. How long will a 2nd yellow top let me run everything for? Also, I have never been to BIG shows like HIN or anything, and they always make me pull the battery at the shows I go to, so how would I run the system or lighting display at a show. Man I really need to get my car to HIN Philly with you so you can help me out...but the stupid show here in Utah on the 1st jacks that plan up.
Again THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your help!

Oh right I forgot the gooseneck idea!. I am not sure how long...at shows (to deal with the disconnect) I tap into a power inverter (and my second battery is stealth so I could run off of that and they would never know!...but at meets (parking lots hanging out, etc...) I can blast for an hour on my second battery and all is well. Get a voltmeter...if you notice a dip just fire up the car for a few minutes battery #1 will charge battery #2

Thanks Mike! Don't they notice your system is going at the shows? Where is your 2nd battery located? I think I may just go to the shop and tell them what I want to accomplish with the 2nd batt. Voltmeter is a good idea, thanks.
