Attn: MIKEY!!!
No, I mislead you (well not intentionally )
...at shows I pay for electric and hook up a power inverter to battery #1 (with pos lead off, just like you do) so the AC voltage feeds the system, but the second batter help "juice" it so I can hit it at hi power!!!
Yeah I dont have a voltmeter yet, but will before HIN Philly...part of my new mod

Ok Mike, went to the shop today. The car is going in on Monday, they are putting the TV on the gooseneck, a PS2 in the trunk with wireless RF(not IR) controllers and the Kicker Solobaric L7 8" in between my seats. They are only doing this for now because I have a car show I have to be to on Friday and they need to get it done before then.
Ok, battery question. The shop that sponsors me, they sell both Optima's and Rockford-Fosgate battery's. And they swear by the Fosgate batts. Since their opinion could be biased since the RF's cost more. What do you think is better. The RF's are a sealed gel cell battery, deep-cycle(which they say has a faster cycling rate than Optima), and it has 950 Cold Cranking Amps. Would that be worth it. They retail at $200 and the Optima is $150-$170. Do you know much about these batteries? Which would be better, thanks!

I am mounting the PS2 on the back wall of the trunk, there is no where to mount it inside the cabin. I have no idea about the controllers, all I know is they showed them to me, and they work awesome. I've played with IR and I can't play GT3, it always loses transmission whenever I go into a turn!
I want to play the playstation at the show, but I don't want to drain my battery and you are supposed to pull the cables. What the car audio shop suggested was telling them that I disconnected the battery with a switch and just leave it hooked up. Sounds like it could work, but could backfire too. We will see. I'll keep you updated on the progress.

No problem Trent
Ideally I would love to hack the PS2 apart, and mount just the drive tray in the cabin somewhere
, then mount the rest of the guts of the unit stealth behind the amp wall
but this might be too much of a project in a month
I am interested in the rf controllers, if you find out what brand they are please let me know. I found these

Depends on what kind of shows you go to...if you dont mind paying for electric hookup at the show (larger shows offer it) ...just get a power inverter... Outdoor shows usually dont require battery disconnect, and indoor shows usually have juice for you for a fee. I have the second battery for 2 reasons....endless playing wherever with car off, and at shows it help feed my undersized inverter.
Oh and if you do a dual battery setup make sure they install an iso relay!! This will allow both batteries to charge, and also allows the second battery to be isolated and NOT DRAIN thus the second battery is always at full capacity
