Friend who works at shelter gave this:

These should get you started. Ask everyone you call or email for an additional referral if they can't help. I can pretty much guarantee they will ask if he is neutered and up to date on his shots. His placement will go much easier if he is both. A neutered dog runs a lot better chance of being kept longer if they happen to end up in a shelter. (70% of dogs euthanized in shelters are un-neutered dogs--depressing thought for the day)

The only place that has been helpful at all has been the place down in Fillmore. But that would mean a five hour drive down to SoCal. :\
