- Real cars have room for real cameras

- 9 times out 10, I do a straight 50% reduction (from 2048x1536 to 1024x768), so in a lot of ways I'm only using it as a 770kp camera. The other pictures I'll crop out what I want, so in that regard the extra pixels are nice. I'm not sure that a 5mp camera would yield that much better pictures, and it's not like you can post a 5mp picture on the internet (they tend to be 3-4 megs and 2600 x 1950).

Fake cars are cheaper dates.
I took the chance that I wasn't going to need to take mega big pics, especially since this is my first camera in about 10 years or so. I'm just getting back in the swing of taking pics, so I couldn't justify the extra money for a bunch of features that would be cool to have but I'd likely never use...

Yeah the 400 has the same case with some
supposedly added scratch proof resistant cover.
I assume thats what happened to my crapped out Nikon, she prob left tit on the table and someone bumped it!

I hear ya, on both acconts. I like my S too much to part with it and "step down" to a Miata or MR2 spyder... could go with a tin roof, and get an SRT4, but then I'd be "one of those people".
I bought the features because I wanted to learn them and use them, rather than just taking p&s pictures and pitching half them. I'm starting to learn exposures and focal lengths, but there's a lot more to learn. I really need to start carrying a notepad with me, and record the AF settings, and try some variations - then see what works and what doesn't. As it stands, I couldn't tell you the settings I used on most of the pictures on the previous page.
